LoopJ
I was experimenting with different methods of layering sounds in order to invent a groundbreaking interactive musical format and came with a solution that allowed very sonically pleasing results.
I proposed the electronic musicians to convert their track to 5 layers: Bass, Beats, Synth, Atmo and Rest. Every layer could contain up to 4 different loops.
LoopJ allowed those 5 layers to be mixed in any random order by literally anyone and produce astonishing tunes. The user felt that they could control their favorite tracks, while remaining fool-proof.
The app allowed to play 2 tracks (e.g. 2x5 layers) at the same time and crossfade between the track, apply effects, record performances, and do all sorts of sonic stuff.
LoopJ was nominated as "Best Musical Innovation 2011" in Cannes. I didn't get the main award but it was a great experience.
